марта 09 That Secret Called Beautiful Belief[Just One of Best MSN Spaces ] ![]() "Belief, makes things real.
Makes things feel, feel alright. Belief, makes things true. Things like you, you and I..."* ![]() Dear Gabrielle,
Sombody had me gobsmacked. Out of the blue, she complained,
"Elle, no matter how hard I try, I can never
be a boy magnet like you."
"What?" I asked incredously, thinking I must have heard her wrong. Surely, she did not say those things?
" You walk into a room and hog attention.
Where does that leave plain Janes like me?"
My jaw just dropped, my face flushed red. I went speechless for a bit. Is she kidding me Gabe?
I mean, this is the girl whose cheekbones, I would die for. Her skin is sickeningly flawless. Her hair, long and silky smooth. She has a megawatt smile that lights up the room. I should be jealous and I am, trust me! Hence, I repeat my question- is she kidding me?
I am not one to disregard people's feelings. So I tried my darnest best to see things in her perspective.
Okay. Maybe she's half right. I have this bizarre tendency to attract them boys. Heck, they may not be the best boys for me, but they are boys nevertheless. As far as I am concerned, I am not better than her in any way.
I started looking at myself in the mirror. Very critically, if I may add. Us girls, have the tendency to do that. I see all my fatal flaws. Ok, I am passably pretty (after loads of effort by the way!
So what is with the boys flocking phenomenon? What makes men flock to one woman and not the other? I may just have an inkling but I figured it best to have it confirmed from the horse's mouth. Not like I'm saying you men, are horses, by the way!
I inquired from that trusted male source, the platboy. Yes, HE who does not sugar coat things and tells me as it is.
"Elementary, my dear Elle," one platboy went. "Both of you are equally pretty. The only difference is that when you walk into a room, you shine."
What am I, a light bulb?
"Elle, a woman can be gorgeous but if she does not believe in herself, she is instantly less attractive to men. You have to believe in yourself before anyone can believe you. Dig?"
Dig. Okay, platboys may sometimes come up with the weirdest theories but this, I have to agree with. He has a point. True greatness starts with the right state of mind.
There is only so much you can do physically to be attractive I suppose. After all is said and done, it all boils down to how you feel about yourself.
I finally told my friend the secret to being attractive.
It is this thing called 'Beautiful Belief'. It leads to self confidence and shows through a girl's walk and her talk.
Now, I am not sure if it is a fool proof boy magnet tactic. Like who cares about tactics anyway? We are talking about matters of the heart here. Best it comes from, errrr, the heart...
I can guarantee however beautiful belief is bound to make anyone feel great about themselves any old way. And when they do, the spotlight will start shining. Better not forget to bring those shades out!
My, my is it blinding in here or is it just you Gabe?
